I lived in Norway for four years. I speak fluent Norwegian. Now I'm going back — and bringing you with me through every trail, every city, every sauna.
The Journey
Most Scandinavia travel content is made by people who spent two weeks there. I spent four years. I studied at university in Norway, became fluent in the language, made friends, walked the same trails in every season, and fell in love with a country that never really let me go.
Now I'm returning — with a camera, a refreshed Norwegian vocabulary, and stories that only someone who actually lived there can tell. Not the highlights reel. The real thing.
"There's a difference between visiting a place and knowing it. Norway knows me back. And I can't wait to reintroduce you."
Animo Abroad isn't a travel channel. It's a homecoming — shared with anyone who's ever felt pulled toward a place, a landscape, or a way of life that the modern world keeps forgetting.
What To Expect
Every video is a window into Scandinavia that only someone who lived there can open. Here's what's coming on Animo Abroad.
Series 01
From Oslo's vibrant streets to silent Norwegian valleys — wandering both worlds with the eyes of someone who knows them.
Series 02
Hiking the trails that Norwegians consider ordinary — and that the rest of the world would call extraordinary.
Series 03
Nordic food culture goes far deeper than smørbrød. The flavors, the rituals, the table culture of the north.
Series 04
Can you play pickleball in Norway? Watch me find out — and bring the mental game to the land of friluftsliv.
Series 05
The Finnish sauna isn't a spa treatment. It's a philosophy of life, community, and radical honesty. I'm going in.
Series 06
Relearning a language I once spoke fluently — on camera, in real conversations, with real Norwegians. Unfiltered.
Why Animo Abroad
There are thousands of Scandinavia travel channels. There is only one made by a fluent Norwegian speaker who spent four years calling it home.
A Word From Norway
"Ut på tur,
aldri sur."
Norwegian proverb · "Out on a hike, never grumpy."
The Norwegians have a saying for everything — and most of them are about getting outside. That's what this channel is built on. Let's go.
Finnish Sauna Culture — A Special Series
The sauna is not optional in Finland. It's where deals are made, friendships are forged, and silence is respected. I'm dedicating an entire series to experiencing authentic sauna culture — smoke saunas, lake saunas, city saunas — and what this ancient ritual can teach us about slowing down, being present, and the mental game of just... existing. Without your phone. Without your ego. In the heat.
